Probably one of the best pieces of cover art I have seen in a long
time. I bought the book because of it. Incidently, the book is called
"Dragon's Winter" by Elizabeth A. Lynn (Pan Books, 1998, ISBN 0-330-35557-0)
and I'm reading it now. I'll let you know what its like.
I won't tell you the ending, but its a little predictable, also I found the climax lacking. There was this big build up to it and then it was suddenly over. I have two major critisms, firstly the ending was drawn out after the climax and did not seem to go anywhere. Secondly it was a really violent book. There seemed to be excessive use of graphic violence just for the sake of it. Sure it highlighted how mean the baddy was, but did not seem to achieve much in the over all scheme of things. |

It was suppose to be all about the special effects and stuff. I got it out, just to see this werewolf thing. Naturally, that was not in there, instead there were piles of blood and guts, so I just stole the image off the cover. |
